Final Felt Flower - Snow Flower

Here is my latest Dahlia to show you.  I must say, I think I've reached the end of making these.  It's been about a year since I made my first - and the excitement has worn off.  However, when I was putting together some pink ones a couple of weeks ago, I couldn't help but wonder what a white one would look like....
I'm pretty happy with it.  I've been making them a bit smaller that when I first started, I like them a bit better this way.

Don't forget about the Owl Giveaway.

Finished Projects

I've got a whole week of finished projects to show you.  Starting up:  More Felt Dahlias! (are you tired of them yet?)
This one is a bit smaller than others I've made.  I think I'm getting better at making the petals.
This one is for a friend.  One of these days we'll hook up so I can give it to her!
So you can see the slightly smaller size.
What did you finish this week?
Have a happy Monday!

New Flowers

I needed a break from the sewing machine yesterday.  AND with an eye toward the number s-l-o-w-l-y  c-r-e-e-p-i-n-g towards 100.  I made this lovely.
Yep, it will be one of the giveaway prizes when we hit 100.  BTW you can find the instructions here.  And see the first one here and the next three here.

I also worked on this paper flower.
I changed the petal shape, which I like.  I used two tone paper, which I like.  However, I used card stock and it was too heavy/thick.  It just didn't have the 'give' that the felt has. I would like to try one with regular paper, and I would love to find a two-tone felt.

As for the other goings on around here.  WD went back to school today.  E is home, probably (hopefully) going back tomorrow.  And I will sit myself back in front of the sewing machine - After I bleach and Lysol every surface in the house.

Hope you have a great day, thanks for reading.

P.S. Check out my links at the side bar.

Spring Blooms, More Felt Dahlias

I made three more of these lovelies for some special girls.

Felt Dahlias
I glued beads in the center this time.

Winter Blooms - Felt Dahlia

I finished one of my Creative Space projects last night.
I am rather pleased with it, even though Mr. Riley thinks its rather gaudy. I have big plans to use it for a belt for a holiday outfit - but we'll see.  I made it out of sparkle felt.  You can find the tutorial here - from Megan Reardon of Not Martha.  She used Fabritac for gluing the petals.  I went ahead and used my glue gun.  I think it worked just fine.
I think you could make all sorts of beautiful flowers based on this tutorial.  Just different petal shapes.  Paper might be a neat way to go as well.
