My Modern Quilt

Do you remember this quilt top?  I think I showed it last November.  It was out of left over pieces from Mr. Riley's Quilt.

 This is what it looks like now.  I put some borders on it and did some minimal quilting.
 The 'batting' is just a layer of flannel. 
 So either its a pieced flannel quilt in a modern style
Or a whole cloth quilt with a pieced back!
The funniest thing about this quilt is in general I am not drawn to 'modern art'. But I do sort of love this one, I suppose because I made it.
Final measurements are 41" x 47".  This quilt will also being going to families of soldiers.

It is somehow soothing. I don't see modern so much as I see nautical.
