WIP Wednesday 2.11.15

I've started quilting my Feathered Christmas quilts, partly to get them finished and partly as warm ups for quilting E's Flip Flop Quilt.  I also discovered that I forgot to applique down one of the paisleys.  Oops.  Guess that will become part of the quilting.
I finally corralled her into helping me pin baste her quilt.  I did promise her that I would do the quilting on it, and we've decided on a flower/butterfly pattern.  First, I'll have to get all those flip flops sewn down.
This is the last time I will show the Temperature Quilt as a work in progress!  I'm about half way hand sewing down the binding.  Next time you see this quilt it will be finished!

Speaking of Temperature Quilts, I made a decision this week that I am not going to make one this year.  I'm just not excited about it and I've got new ideas for quilts that I want to do, so I bagged up the fabrics, and will consider one in the future.

For one of my new quilts I've been thinking about colors.  These are the two fabrics we were given for the Guild Challenge this year - The Violet and Chartreuse.  I have a quilt sketched out, but I need to figure out how to draw it accurately.  I should really invest more time on my EQ7 program.

The feathered Christmas quilt is beautiful! The quilting really makes those feathers pop. I really need to applique more. There are so many great appliqued quilts, but somehow I always default to piecing.

Your applique quilt is beautiful. I don't think any one will notice that one paisley is not quilted down... is it too late?

It would appear that your recruited help may not be to happy about being recruited, or is it about having her picture taken? Either way, looks like a fun second quilt.
