Thank You! Day 2

*This Giveaway is Closed*

Two Prizes today, too!

 1. 5 fat quarters.  The fabric line is called Enchantment, by Kathy Davis for Free Spirit Fabrics.

 2. 6 fat quarters.  This line is called 'Savannah'.  It is a Hoffman Print.  Not a new line, though.  I've been holding on to these for quite some time, but never a plan, so time to pass them on!

Today's question. What kind of stash do you have.  Is it years and years old?  Does it overflow the space?  Do you hardly have a stash?  Are you great about using up your fabrics?  Do tell.

To win:
- Be a follower.
- One comment per person.
- Giveaway closes at 12:00 PM Central Standard Time,  March 4, 2014
- Don't forget to leave contact information.

Monday March 3, through Friday March 7, I will do a giveaway each day. Free Fabric, People!  Each post will go live at Midnight.  I will accept comments on the posts for 24 hours.  When the next post goes up, comments will have to be done.  You can go ahead and comment on each post, so you may win up to five times. (I am going to assume that won't happen).

Each post will have a question to answer about yourself, so I can get to know my readers.  If you don't answer the question, I'll delete your comment.  And please, please, please make sure I can reach you if you win.  If you are a 'no-reply blogger' or just to be safe, you can leave your email in your comment.
I will use Random.org to choose the winners each day.  I will contact winners daily, but wait to do the mailing until March 10.  And as much as I absolutely love to read comments, and try to generally reply on regular days, its just an impossibility on giveaways.  Especially five in a row!

Winners: Enchantment Fat Quarters go to Lizzie!

Savannah Fat Quarters go to A Quilter's Mission

I think my stash is about 4ish years old. I think it is out of control since I tend to save random fabric items that I think I might find a new use for down the road and I have a scrap problem (though I'm working on it slowly with a cathedral quilt). We just moved into a tiny space so I'm doing my best to not buy more. But I don't mind being given more.

What is a big stash? Lol!... I have some boxes full of fabrics. Most of them are fatquarter size, some bigger some less. I normally buy fabrics on sale or other finds as our budget is small. And I try to use those fabrics. Mostly I use those for smaller gift items, wallhangings, bags and scrapquilts.

The oldest fabric in my stash must be nearly 20 years old - from my dressmaking days! These days I buy only what I really like rather than what's cheap at the time!!

My stash is years old and I barely have any yardage. With the pieces I do have, I generally use the. For appliqué or baby quilts.

My stash is about 5 years old. When I first got into quilting I loved the browns/tans and then it got to be where I loved just about everything I saw.....I am overflowing my space but with all the backs I need to make I am thinking that will cut down my stash quite a bit. Thanks for the giveaway and would love to win the Savannah prints...those are just beautiful.

I recently went through my stash and got rid of 2 trash bags of leftovers from garment sewing and old fabrics that were cotton/poly blends. I have been sewing for 40 years and I still make use of some of the calicoes I bought in the 70's. I organized what I kept by color so my stash is more manageable. I also have way too many ufo's, but I keep finding new projects to start. Good thing I love scrappy designs.

Most of my fabric stash began 7 years ago when I started quilting & has grown to ridiculous proportions. But I also have some fabric from the 60s & 70s boxed up in the attic, from when I used to sew most of my clothes. Thanks for the giveaway.

My stash is a combination. It started about 12 years ago, but my mom and others have given me fabric which is years older than that. I just used a knit to make my son a shirt that my mom bought for my brother, who is now approaching 40!!

My stash is about 15 years old. I have my fabrics sorted by color - it takes up half the closet in the sewing room

I started my stash about forever ago--even before I started sewing. I had an old steamer trunk with fabric. Since I started sewing 8 years ago my stash has exploded. I'm pretty good about using it--with new fabric. :) I'm trying to get better at that. I also keep trying to find a good way to organize it, but so far haven't found a really good way. I've been lucky enough to have some people share fabric with me so I have some really interesting fabric mixed in with what I buy.

Hi Rachel,
Most of my stash has been bought in the last 3 years, however, I do have a couple of bins of fabric that were my Aunt's. She was a fabulous quilter, and she passed away in 1997. I didn't quilt at that time, but I did like fabric and took some of it.(I should have taken it all) The rest was given away. I also raided my Mom's sewing room and took all her cottons.

I have a small, mostly thrifted stash and wish it were a bit bigger and fancier. A bit more like my yarn stash.....I have a pretty serious yarn and wool stash.

Some of my stash goes back 15-25 years. Back then I would buy as much as 2-3 yards if I really liked a piece and didn't know exactly what I would make with it. (fabric was a lot cheaper back then) When I became an empty nester 10 years ago, I lost my sewing mojo for about 7 years. I have been back to quilting/sewing since I was laid off work 3 years ago. I have been working from my stash and getting a lot of UFO's completed.

I recently started to stash about 4 years ago so it is new... Except for when I go to my Mom's and find material she forgot she had... Then I take it :)

My stash is small... but manageable!! I try to cut into what I already have however, sometimes a new project simply requires fabric that I don't have (tsk tsk). Other times, I find that I can't resist a sale. And that is the story of my life as a quilter!!

My stash was started about 35 years ago and I still have a lot from that time. I've just added more as I went along and now I am overflowing! I have fabric stuffed...err.. stored in 2 rooms now!

I get your emails

Pretty colors!

My fabric stash is still pretty small. It fits in a couple bins. But then again, I've only had my own sewing machine for a short time.

Good Morning, Rachel. I have been collecting fabric for about 20 years so some of my stash has been around for a while. Some of it is just sooo pretty I have a hard time cutting into it. LOL Thanks for the giveaway.

I have a stash in a few large baskets that have been organized at one time. They are in need of an over-haul though. I could probably stand to get rid of some that's been sitting around for too long as well! On the other hand, it's always fun to go back through it and remember what I had wanted to do with it - and maybe plan a new project for free!

I work mostly with donated fabrics so...my stash takes up 3 closets!! Yes, I use my stash daily. Most of the fabrics we get donated is old.

My stash is as old as the first time I started sewing dice pouches in high school for my dungeon's and dragon's playing group. It has expanded since then. It has moved to 22 states with me, and has priority above everything moving except my computer and the cats and dog. I have developed a storage system with clear plastic drawers and baskets but am constantly having to modify it with life's changes and more fabric! I look at it and I see possibilities - so I don't see it going away any time soon.

I had a fire in my quilt studio about 12 years ago. So the majority of my fabric is 'recent'. I have changed my style and I donate the 'older' stuff to our Silent Auction at the guild. I have fabrics grouped by collections or color. I make a lot of charity quilts.

My stash is newer since I'm A newer quilter (about 6 months). I'm still adding to my stash and the fat quarters would be greatly appreciated. The fabric will find a good home here. I am a follower by e-mail, Bloglovin, and pinterest. It is my privilege to read your blog. I learn so much reading blogs. Thank you so much for the giveaway. katztoo1(at)frontier(dot)com

My stash is about 3 years old. I took up quilting a couple of months after I retired in June 2010. I thought I had a pretty good stash happening but when I see some of the stashes on various blogs.....mine is only a drop in the bucket. Thanks for the opportunity to win.

My quilting stash is pretty small, despite quilting for more than ten years now. I have a much larger stash of clothing fabrics. I'm slowly building it, but I have a really tight budget, so it's a fat quarter at a time right now.

I have a stash in plastic storage bins that fit under a bed...there are four of them total, not incredibly huge. Two have my really nice fabrics that I plan to make something with, one is solids, the last is a hodge-podge of sorts. I also have a tote with large cuts that are intended for backing...they do coordinate pieces in the other containers.

Thanks for a lovely giveaway.

My stash is growing, it makes me happy to add to it :)

I keep my fabric in plastic bins in the basement where I sew. It is a hassle getting to the fabrics but oh well.
