Christmas Already?

Ah, the dreaded word: Christmas.  It will be here too soon!  But to that end, I got a good start on one of the presents I am making this year.
Friday I made the top and binding.  Saturday I finished the backing.  Now I need a chance to get it basted and quilted.  This is as much as I can show you.  I don't think the recipient reads the blog - but one can never be too careful.
Today I was in Joann's buying cheap batting for charity quilts, and WP saw this in the remnant bin.  I think he knows fabric is my weakness.  He just had to buy it.  'its so squishy'.  And blaze orange.  There are 19" on the remnant, so I'm thinking maybe a pull over vest.
I also got started on a blouse (do people still use that word?) out of this fabric.  Hopefully I can show tomorrow, all that's left is hemming it up and sewing down the cowl.

How was your weekend?

Hmmm, wonder what it could be? I love how you keep your binding in a plastic container, what a great idea.

And yes, blouse, I still use that word!

A couple of years ago when I was barely learning how to quilt, I decided to make my 4 children and 5 of my grandchildren quilts for Christmas.
Now I am more into making them attempting to sell them. I have yet to sell one, but I keep on sewing!
I still have loads to learn about quilting.

Orange is such a cheery color. Good job on being on top of the Christmas game.

I am a sucker for fabric too. I have brought home more than one fat quarter just because one of the kids just "loved" it. Thanks so much for sharing.

I'm trying to ignore the whole 'C' word thing until I get my November 'to do's out of the way ;o)

I understand the feelings that come with last minute Christmas project finishes! I hope you are able to get all that you wish to do by your deadline. I really love the way you stored your binding, what a great idea that I will have to use!
