Pajamas: Simplicity 1502

 It took me three evenings, but my Pajamas are done.  I think its been ages since I've sewn for myself.  Probably because I have a ton of clothes, and am still trying to get back to the "before all the babies" weight, if not shape. 

 When I came across the jersey knit remnant at the Hobbit Lobby, I picked it up, thinking specifically about this pattern.  The lace came from my stash (or rather my inherited Mom's stash).

 A pretty easy and straightforward pattern.  I think what took the longest for me is applying all the bias tape on the sleeves and neckline. 

And I just couldn't resist adding lace to the shorts for a bloomers look.  And no, I will not be modeling pajamas on the internet.  Not gonna happen.

I might have to make a few more from this pattern.

Pajamas!

 My daughter has been growing quite like a weed lately, and we found her in need of some summertime nightgowns.

 They are the easiest things to whip up.  I buy a 3-pack of camisoles from the local big box store, let E find some fabric that she loves, draw out a simple A-line skirt, and attach skirt to the cami.

They are nice and long, cool and comfortable, and will hopefully last a couple years, at least.

Flannel PJ Pants - For the Family

I've always wanted to do the 'New Jammies for Christmas' thing and this year it worked out.

 I started Christmas Eve, Eve and finished them Christmas Eve Morning.
Patterns used were Simplicity 5271 for the bigger three - for the smaller two Simplicity 4833 - which seems to be out of print, now.

The bear going down the side of the pants is a pocket.  That's what happens when you don't follow layout directions.  And you don't care enough to cut new pockets.

You may notice that there are 5 pairs of pants and we have 6 in the family.  Well, in the interest of not overbuying, I thought for sure I had enough flannel in the stash to make myself a pair.  I was wrong.  Oh, well.
I purchased inexpensive thermal shirts for everyone to match the pants.

 They all ended up too big, except Mr. Riley's.  I guess that gives them room to grow.

Packers Pajama Pants

I have a 12 y/o nephew who is a Packer Fan in Bear Country - so I made him some flannel Packer PJ pants for Christmas.  Maybe he can wear them to school on pajama day......

My Creative Space - Finished!

A while back, before Christmas, I showed you some lovely green fabric with pink flowers.  Well I finally got to finished the project.  I made some matching Jammies for Ellie and I out of Simplicity 9499.  Ellie's came out great.  Mine, well, the shirt was a bit tight across the hips, so I curved up the hem.  The pants, on the other hand, turned out a bit large, but they are jammies - so except for all of you, who's going to see them?  Moral of the story - I am not a Man's Medium.

 The fabric is a jersey knit, on clearance, from Hobby Lobby.  Really pretty for jammies, but I can see why it was on clearance.
Incidentally, this is the same pattern I used for the Halloween costumes.
