Changing Fabric Colors

After much shopping for 'just the right color' and not finding it,  I decided I would have to make my own for the mermaid's skin.  I'll show you what I did.  The colors of the photos, however are not entirely accurate.  I was doing this late evening, so everything has that lovely yellow cast to it.  Grrrrr.

1. This is the fabric 'regular color'.  It's actually much more white in real life.  If it was this color, I wouldn't have changed it.

 2.  I grabbed some blush and a make-up brush from my make-up box. 

 3. I started brushing on the blush.  I was happy.  I continued.

4. Now it looks darker, and I realize a little blotchy, but I figure with ironing, touching and quilting it, things will even out.
