Today

I am surrounded by my fabric.  I had a couple of friends over to go through it for a church project.  It is a wonderful/terrible thing to see (almost) all of it in one place. 

But it's good that I'm going through and organizing.  Does it need to be done 1 1/2 weeks before Christmas?.....Well, I don't have a good answer for that!

 My goal is separating apparel, home dec., and quilting.  One box for flannels and fleece, too.  There are some subcategories as well, based on size and future plans.  Of course sitting amidst it all, I create dozens of plans in my head!

Closet Re-do & a UFO

So the closet project is 'done'.

 

It looks a lot better than it did here.  Some things I don't know what to do with, like bags of stuffing, or all my present wrapping stuff.  What do you with yours?
I did get a lot of stuff combined and better organized.  Emptied lots of boxes.  The best thing I did was take this mess of ribbon:

 Get it cleaned up and organized and condensed two boxes to one!

 I've seen this done with popsicle sticks.  I just used what I had.  Lots of clothes pins. 

There were boxes and bags in that closet that hadn't been looked at since we moved, three years ago (and 2 kids ago).
I pulled out this UFO

Maybe now that its out again, I'll get around to quilting it.

Cleaning Up

I don't have anything to show in the way of craftiness or sewing so far this week.   What I have been sewing is a gift, so no peeks, yet.  And other than that I have been using my time cleaning.  Cleaning all those areas that only get it once or twice a year.  It's so nice to have the clean slate after all the Christmas stuff has been put away.  The house seems so much bigger.  So I have been through the broom closet, my dresser, Ellie's dresser, under the kitchen sink and the laundry room.  Here is a picture of what makes me the happiest today.

Yep.  Just a simple over the door shoe organizer.  Chock full of hats, gloves, mittens and scarves.  I can't claim credit for this one, my Sister-in-law has been doing this for years.  I just finally got to a point where I realized it was time for us to do it.

So maybe later this week I'll have some sewing stuff to show you, I have lots of ideas percolating, that's for sure!
