First up, thanks for the Melon Fabric suggestions. I am spending some time tonight at the LQS, so I will see what they've got in stock before I head online. Also, a question: If you were going to bid on a 12" x 12" mini quilt - what would you be looking for? Miniature piecing? Applique? Art? Flowers? Animals? Beading? So far I have no direction on this at all - really need some inspiration.
The finish! This cute little baby quilt. Finishing at 34" square. The center fabrics are 'sips of summer' from Connecting Threads from forever ago that I got as a door prize from my quilt guild. In fact these are the left overs from This Quilt. The green, probably Joann's. The orange polka dot is Hobby Lobby, and I don't know where the blue came from. But, it did all come from the stash, as did the pieced batting. I just love using up batting pieces.
A close up of the quilting and the inspiration for the quilting.
This will go on a small pile of baby quilts I am amassing for the various expectant moms that I know.
I am also pretty much ready for my class tomorrow AM. Tonight is shopping, eating and meeting the teachers. I asked Mr. Riley and E if I should teach the sample with pears, or robots. They were both adamant about pears. It will be one bright quilt when all is said and done!

Rachel, I have done the crayon challenge for years and I try to always make my block fantastic. Something that will catch the eye. I never wanr my piece to be the only one without a bid, hahaha. I usually use a technique I have been wanting to try and this year is no exception. With my color being gray I've gotta make it pop!
