I'm here!

I really am here!  How about a few more wildflowers?  The ones from a couple of weeks ago are gone, but we've got a new and different batch blooming.

Jack in the Pulpit.  This is one of the biggest I've ever seen.
Mayapple

Toad Shade
Toad Shade.  Very similar to Purple Trillium, but the petals are a more brown, and don't actually open up.
Shooting Star

Common Strawberry

Smaller Pussy Toes
These are actually kind of hard to see because of the bright sunshine.  They grow in a cluster down by the mailbox.

Another Jack in the Pulpit.  I thought this one had some lovely coloring on the inside.  In the fall I'll show you some pictures of the beautiful read berries these guys leave behind.

I've got a couple more big projects to finish up this week and then hopefully back to a bit more 'normal' blogging schedule.

Beautiful photographs of such unusual plants - at least to me. I learned something today and I appreciate that. Thanks for sharing. I love nature and watch plants and flowers unfold!
