Butterick 3906 Renaissance Peasant Dress

We made one last visit to the Renaissance Faire on Labor Day, which is their last day for the season.
I managed to get a new dress made for myself for the occasion.  It was super comfortable, more than last year's princess dress. (I was looking for a link to show you, and guess what, I never blogged it!  You can see all our outfits from last year *here*)
I took these photos after wearing and washing.  The dress could use some ironing, but since I won't need it any time soon, its not a big deal.
I wasn't originally sure about making the over skirt, but the fabric I chose was too shear not to.
It's a nice lightweight, loose weave cotton.  Perfect for a warm summer day.  I had lots of yardage in the stash.
The vest material came from my mother's stash that I inherited, and the pink skirt material was also stash.  This dress cost me nothing to make!  Happy day!
I made baby girl a matching peasant dress, too.
I'll leave you with a picture of one of the characters there.  We call her the spider fairy.

Cute dress. I love the little peasant dress too! I've never been to a Renaissance festival...looks like fun!
