My son told me Monday that he 'had nothing to do'. Really? We live on 10 acres, have a barn full of toys and a room full of toys, more books that I can count and you have nothing to do!!??
So I started him sewing. On the perfect project. A new dog bed. Doesn't have to be perfect and he can get a feel for how the machine works.
We stuffed it with left over batting scraps. These are either too small to piece back together, or trimmings from quilts. Makes great stuffing!
Stuffing away.
The finished product. Its' just a big rectangle of corduroy with stuffing bits in it. I have about 10 yards of the powder blue corduroy. Seriously. I found it at a thrift store for a couple of dollars.
Everyone wanted to try out the new cushion.
The boy now tells me he wants to make a quilt!

Entertaining the kids, teaching them to sew, and making the dog a bed all at the same time? Pure genius :)
Good for him!! I think its great he wants to learn to sew!
Have a great day.
Always, Queenie
We all start somewhere, making something that's interesting and fun!
This is a cute story!

I love that everyone had to try it out. Cute!
So glad to see boys sewing too. Didn't know I should have been saving those small batting bits but now I know what to do with them.
