Peter Rabbit Baby Quilt

Wouldn't you know it, I managed to get New Baby's quilt done before the arrival!  It is a Peter Rabbit panel from Quilting Treasures along with coordinating tone on tone prints.  I've had this fabric since 2006, waiting for the right project.
The piecing is simple as well as the quilting.  I am terrible about too densely quilting on occasion, and since this is meant for a baby I tried not to go overboard.  The back shows the quilting pretty well: Stitch in the ditch around the 'piano keys' and just a large stipple in the panel sections.  The stipple was E's vote, I was considering just straight line quilting, and she told me then it doesn't look like I'm a very good quilter, hah!
The backing is a green and white gingham print that I picked up off the clearance section of my Local Quilt Store.  I also did the binding in the gingham print.
A couple shots of the quilting.
This quilt was entirely pieced and quilted with the natural cream colored Aurifil Cotton.  It blends in so well!
I tried something a little different with batting this time around.  I have a roll of Pellon natural cotton batting I bought last year.  It comes folded once on the bolt.  As I was laying it out, I thought I'd try a double layer of batting.  I'm pretty happy with the results.  Nice and poofy and not too stiff at all!
 The facts:
Finished size: 38" x 50"
Batting: Pellon Natural Cotton
Thread: Cream/Natural Aurifil
Quilted on my home machine by me.

Peter Rabbit is gorgeous. I have exactly the same that a friend gave me and I made a cot quilt too. I had coordinating fabrics, pink, blue, yellow, green and the other unusual color, reddish color...all with dots. I made pinwheels out of these. Looks gorgeous too.

It's really cute! What a relief to be done 'in time.'

I've never tried a double layer of batting- that sounds really interesting!
