Simplicity 7226 - The Cowl Neck Blouse

I hope you all had a wonderful Holiday time with family and friends this past weekend.  We sure did. There is still leftover pie on my counter - today will see the end of it, one way or another!

The blouse is done.  Actually it's been done for a couple of weeks and I've worn it to church, but such is blogging - not usually a reflection of real life.
I went with view A - the tunic length, since the shorter length looked awfully short in the picture.
The way I wore it to church.
 On it's own.
With a belt it's OK (pardon the post church wrinkles)
Free flowing and untucked, not so great (plus its windy)
The fabric was a poly crepe backed satin that I got in a pile of fabric from my Stepmom.  The dots are printed on - I actually smudged a couple with the iron :o .   It has a nice feel and draped pretty well.  I ended up taking the pattern in a lot because I didn't cut by bust size.  Lesson learned.  I will be much more careful of measurements in the future.  Easier to alter out for hips than in for a smaller top.  The pattern also called for making ties out of the matching fabric.  In hindsight, maybe I should have done that.  It looks a little better being nipped in the waist, but mostly I'll probably wear it tucked in.  As for the pattern, it was quite easy to put together.  I'm definitely interested in trying the other styles.
Miss E took the pictures, therefore the wonkiness.

Looks great on you! E did a great job with pictures (you look a little too serious). ;-)
