Yesterday was a lovely (hot) September day and I was at a Tea Party to show off our block exchange quilts. Today I'll take you on a tour of the batik quilts (sans mine).
These are the blocks that we all started with (minus 2). A few ladies didn't finish/start their quilts yet.
Cut apart and put back together.
Lots of room for fancy quilting.
Added blocks in the middle, sashing and borders to make a larger quilt.
Took them all apart. Broke all the rules (and you know I like rules). But a beautiful quilt.
Blue borders really pulled it all together!
This one will be a jacket. I can't wait to see the finished product. What a unique idea.
Batik blocks, sashed with batiks and surrounded by traditional borders. Beautiful.
Amazing that everyone starts with the same blocks and the variations are so different.
Tomorrow I'll show you the 'traditional' fabrics quilts.

How neat!! so many ideas...and quilts..and so little time..wow!!
Nice! It's always fascinating to see the way people take the same items and come up with completely different end-products. Beautiful work. Are you going to show your finished product?
