Pumpkin Pancakes and a Party Skirt

I made some pumpkin pancakes for breakfast today.  Yu-um.  I took my basic pancake recipe and added a cup of pumpkin, a little more sugar, cloves, ginger and cinnamon.   They were a hit with the family this morning.

Ellie's holiday skirt is finished.  It actually got done almost a whole week before the Fall Program!  (not the wee hours of the night before)  I used a circle skirt pattern with a wide elastic waist band, inspired by Dana's instructions over at Made.  I didn't do the math part for the skirt - I just used a poodle skirt pattern I already had on hand.  I did follow the instructions for the waist band.  I even tried dyeing it red.  Not entirely thrilled with the dye job, so I made the sash to tie around Ellie's waist to cover the elastic.  The skirt is two layers, a sheer with the swirl pattern and a red satin underneath.  Next to come - boy bow ties and vests!

Very cute! I am planning on doing a similar skirt for my daughter--okay, I've been planning on it since last year! ;)
