Feather Fancy Christmas Wreath Finish - And a giveaway!

When it rains, it pours, at least with quilt finishes around here.
Today, the Feather Fancy Christmas Wreath.
Yay!  I am pretty pleased with this finish. I will refrain from pointing out what I see as issues with the quilt.  It is just for me to hang up for Christmas - which I will do come December.  The pattern is called Feather Fancy by Cherry Blossoms.  The applique can be cut with a GO! machine or as I did, trace, fuse and cut.  I used Pellon 805 Wonder Under on the pieces and also used the button hole stitch on my machine to applique them down.
The quilting, applique and piecing are all in Aurifil threads.  (you know by now I'm an Aurifil snob, right?)  White, green, and red.
The center was done in a small stipple.  The checked border is just stitched-in-the-ditch, and the outer border is (relatively) straight lines 1/4" apart.  I did the binding by machine on this one.
Because I never seem to be able to corner well, I overlapped the quilting lines in the corner, instead.
The backing is some fabric I got from Connecting Threads a few years ago.  Love the knit sweater look.
And its superb for hiding stitches.
I call this the "keeping it real shot".  Before I cropped out the surround ;)

Quilt Details:
Finished size: 28" x 28"
Batting: Pellon Cotton
Thread: Aurifil #2024 (white) #2250 (red) #2887 (green)
Fabrics: Yes!
Piecing, Applique and Quilting done by Me!

Did I say something about a giveaway? How about the pattern for this quilt AND some fabric to get you started.
The pattern has been used once, by me.  So unfolded, taped, traced, un-taped and refolded.  I may have written a note about strip piecing the squares.  So much more efficient than sewing 40 1.5" squares together two at a time!
And some fabric for you!  The greens are the same that I used in my quilt.  The snowflakes and cardinals are just to get you in a very early Christmas-y mood!

Cardinals: 28" x WOF
Snowflakes: 18" x WOF
Dark Green: 15" x 21" plus
Light Green: 13" x WOF plus

The details.
Be a follower of mine, either on the blog or Instagram, you'll find me there as rachel_thelifeofriley .  Either is fine, just tell me which in your comment.  Eligible comments have to be left on this blog post.  Remember, I need a way to contact you, so if you are not sure, leave your email in the comment.  I will take comments until NOON Central Standard Time on Wednesday February 25.  Then a winner will be chosen from the eligible comments.  I am happy to ship internationally.  Good Luck!

  13. It's gorgeous! And as much as I'd love to be able to make something like that, I need to stick with my simple quilting and finish what I've started before going that intricate... ;-) so don't count me in on your giveaway.

I tried to comment yesterday, but I'm having more and more trouble with blogs bouncing my comments back to me and failing. I'm about ready to give up. I've tried to check all the 'normal' places to see if it's a problem with my profile, but I really think it's a Blogger or Bloglovin' issue. What to do?! Oh well, it's not that big of a deal.

Anyway, it's a beautiful Christmas quilt. It will grace your walls beautifully!
