I know, I know. You're all saying to yourselves "how did she finish a quilt with a newborn?"
I'm not sure either. It just worked out that I had some time and M was napping really well. It is not a large quilt, so that helped as well. I was actually able to baste it on the table, so I didn't disrupt kitchen life to get it basted.
I did an all over stipple with this thick, bright, rainbow thread. Squeak! My eye was on the spool there at the end! I bound it in a marbled brown; It definitely needed it to pull everything together, and perhaps it will work for a little boy.
The back is a mystery fabric I found at a local thrift store.
This is one of my finishes for the Finish-a-Long hosted by Leanne. Original list found here. I think I mentioned turning this into a bag, but its really not my colors or style, so I'm calling it done and putting it in the charity pile.

IT is great!!! So impressed that you got this done with your new little one too!
ReplyDeleteVery nice! The variegated thread was the perfect choice!
ReplyDeleteI like the crazy brights. I'm super impressed that you sewed it with a newborn snoozing away the whole time- but I know the drive to get back to some kind of normal is pretty strong!
ReplyDeleteLovely fabrics!!! Thanks for sharing it with us!
ReplyDeleteWow, impressed you finished a quilt with a newborn! These bright colors are so fun, I love it!
ReplyDeleteVery colourful and lovely to see. Good on you for taking a bit of time for yourself, so important to feed your soul (little ones take so much of our energy, not that we mind, it's all just part of parenting!)
ReplyDeleteIt's beautiful! Great job!
ReplyDeleteI love the colours in this one and I have been there with the thread, glad you made it.
